The International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research

Founded in 2009, the centre is a joint venture between Curtin University, the University of Western Australia and the State Government of Western Australia.

ICRAR has grown from 15 people initially to about 250, including staff and students now making it one of the biggest astronomical research institutions in Australia. The original goal for the centre was to bring the SKA to Australia and support the Australian bid to host the project, while conducting cutting-edge research, engineering and data science utilising the SKA precursor instruments, ASKAP and MWA.

ICRAR is very happy to host ADASS XXXVI and welcomes you to the beautiful campus of the University of Western Australia.
