Practical Info

Name Tags

The name tags provide some additional information and here is just a bit of an explanation of that. The tags are identical on either side, thus it will always be visible. From top to bottom:

  1. There is the title and the preferred pronouns (if provided during registration).
  2. Of course there is the name in bold letters.
  3. Then there is the affiliation and the country of affliliation as a little flag.
  4. If the person is presenting a talk or a poster, there will be a QR code pointing to the Pretalx details of that submission. The little logo inside the QR code depicts whether it is an invited or contributed talk (blue or green speech bubble, respectively), a poster (orange poster stand), a BoF (green feather) or a tutorial (blue open book).
  5. The various logos at the bottom indicate whether the person is a LOC or a POC member, joining the dinner, has allergies or dietary requirements. For LOC and POC members the top and bottom borders of the name tag is actually orange in addition to make it easier to identify people from the LOC or the POC from a distance.

NOTE: The food related icons are obviously important for catering reasons but also for the conference dinner, thus please bring your name tag to the dinner.

Identifying LOC Members and Helpers

In addition to the different name tags all helpers and LOC members will usually also wear a white T-Shirt with the ADASS XXXVI logo on the front and the back.

Locating Posters

If you are presenting a poster or trying to find one, please refer to the schedule on Pretalx to figure out in which room or foyer it is. (Note again that the assigned time-slots should be ignored!) If you meet a person with a poster QR code, following that link will also show you the room/foyer where the poster is.
